Hereditas Baltica – “Virtual Reading Room” for Baltic Archival Materials (HerBalt)

The Document Collection launched the collaborative project “Hereditas Baltica” in 2011. The goal of this long-term project, which is structured modularly and consists of several subprojects, is to digitally consolidate archival holdings that are currently scattered across various locations. To this end, the Document Collection collaborates with different partners in Germany and abroad, depending on the module. The focus is on digitizing and making available online fundamental materials from key and significant sources on the political and personal history of the Baltic region.
