GeoBib – Early German and Polish Holocaust and Camp Literature (1933-1949)
Annotated and Georeferenced Online Bibliography for the Research on Memory Narratives
Duration
2012 - 2015
For this reason, this BMBF funded „eHumanities“ project will make the early German and Polish Holocaust literature accessible for the public. The project will cover the works published between 1933 and 1949. The literary works provided in the online database will be supplemented by further information, for example names of persons and locations, information about the author, the reception of the works and about the location of the sources in different libraries. The cartographic realisation of the project helps to recognize the works’ focus in terms of location, time and language. In this annotated and georeferenced project, the supplemented bibliographical information will be made accessible for future scientific research as well as for teaching at universities and schools or for memorials.
The project is carried out in cooperation with four partners from the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen. These partners are: Arbeitsstelle Holocaustliteratur, Department of Geography/ Section for Geoinformatics and Remote Sensing, Centre for Media and Interactivity, Department of German Studies/ Section for Applied Linguistics and Computer Linguistics
