Property and Facility Management
The property management team takes care of the five buildings belonging to the Herder Institute. For example, extensive renovation work on the so-called Schäfer House was completed in 2024.
This is a half-timbered house designed by Carl Schäfer in 1879, which served as a garden house in the shadow of the Hensel Villa, built in 1906, for mathematics professor Kurt Hensel at the beginning of the 20th century and was most recently used by the Institute as a caretaker's apartment.
Following the complete renovation of the listed building, nine state-of-the-art workplaces are now available.
