As an academic service facility for historical East Central European research, the Herder Institute maintains a close network of national and international collaborative relationships. It maintains close contact with numerous academics at home and abroad who are associated with the Institute as users, scholarship holders, conference participants, authors, advisers or in other ways. Through its collections, it has a large number of exchange relationships with libraries and academic facilities around the world. Furthermore, it has a broad spectrum of institutional links with individual institutions involved in historical East Central European research.
