The database, with its 6,300 aerial photographs (1942-45), was produced on the basis of the sample sheet for the map of the German Reich 1:100,000, in association with an official district directory (as at: 1939), in which all places with more than 400 inhabitants were recorded.

Under >Full-text search<, searches can be made for sub-holdings of the historical districts (e.g. Wohlau) or of the voivodeships (as at: 1975; e.g. Olsztyn). The >Register search< allows searches to be made for holdings on individual places.
