The item of the month
The document collection of the Herder Institute (DSHI) would like to make you familiar items from its holdings that are worthy of particular attention. This attention may be due to a historically-important day of commemoration or because the archive employees have come across a particularly lovely or exciting item. In some cases, the items are of general historical or political importance. From time to time, they are only of importance to a small group of people, maybe even to one individual, just as a letter or postcard can sometimes be important for each of us.
Each month, we would like to present to you a new item from our holdings. In doing so, we will open a window for you, giving you a small insight into the rich holdings of the document collection.
This window will be opened for you on the Internet through this page. If we have awakened your particular interest we are happy to show you the originals of the records on display in our rooms at the Herder Institute in Marburg, Gisonenweg 5-7, D-35037 Marburg. We extend a warm welcome!
