Archive database
Through this page you can access an online research facility for a part of the holdings of the document collection of the Herder Institute (DSHI). This is a brief description of the bequests, a central holding of the DSHI. Full-text searches and index searches are possible. Similar brief descriptions will follow at intervals for other holdings, and later the finding aids that can be searched electronically will follow with a deeper level. Baltic archive holdings that form the focus of the DSHI are explained using particular information on the holdings and their creators. Research using conventional finding aids is also possible througth direct enquiries in the document collection. Please contact us if you have any questions, criticisms or suggestions regarding the database: Dr. Peter Wörster or Dorothee Goeze M.A.
Information on using the database: To access the information about a holding, click on the little cross in front of the name in question. Of the search functions, currently the fields Search (full-text search) / Index (search using index terms) / Classification (overview of the finding aids) are operated within the scope of the information named under 1. Diacritics for the online version will be added in future for optimal use of the database (for current searches, please enter search terms without diacritics). You can return to the home page of the Herder Institute by using the button with the Herder Institute logo.
